Maggie is a managed pet care company in Amsterdam. We recruit and select the caregivers, we make the match, and we stay responsible for how the care goes.
It started with Maggie.
Maggie is our family dog — and, very genuinely, one of my best friends.
She sits with me when I'm sad. She gets me outside when I'd otherwise stay glued to my laptop. She sleeps in my bed every night when I'm home, and when I'm away, I'm the person FaceTiming the dog.
So when I travel, knowing that she's with someone thoughtful, dependable and genuinely good with her matters more to me than almost anything else.
Over the years, finding that kind of care was harder than I thought it should be. I relied on word-of-mouth recommendations that sometimes fell through, and I tried marketplace-style pet care where the experience could feel like scrolling through strangers and hoping I'd picked the right one.
What bothered me wasn't just finding someone available. It was the uncertainty.
What happens if they cancel? Who do I call if something doesn't feel right? Why am I responsible for evaluating dozens of profiles when what I really want is to know that someone trustworthy has this handled?
That became the idea behind Maggie.
I wanted to build the kind of pet-care company I wished existed for her: one that carefully selects its caregivers, makes the match for you, gets to know your pet and stays accountable for the experience.
Not just a place to find a sitter. A company you can actually rely on.
And naming it Maggie felt obvious.
